I have watched the world change in a matter of days, as we all have. It went from precautions to self-isolation and social distancing in the blink of an eye. First and foremost, I hope everyone reading this is safe and healthy. What we are seeing is a nation driven by fear. Yes, the Coronavirus can be deadly, but I feel that the media has sent the public into a such a panic, it is a danger in itself. I hope those facing economic hardships can get relief soon, and I hope this world goes back to a state of normalcy sooner than later.
For Pastrami Nation, we are dedicated to still bringing you news, reviews, and more from the world of pop culture. The podcasts are on hold, but we will try our best to do giveaways still, and try how we can to brighten the days. The landscape has changed temporally, but entertainment is still in great need. We need escapes from reality, whether it be in the form of comic books, movies at home, video games, and more. Also, those who create these forms of entertainment need support now more than ever. Comic book creators, filmmakers, independent toy creators, and more- many who would count on convention appearances for their income, are in a challenging position. Comic book stores, who have become like a second home for many of us, are facing extremely hard times with social distancing.
So if you can support your local businesses, support the indie creators. Help those that helped us escape reality with their stories and products for years. Look for spotlights on indie creators and where to purchase their items soon. If you are one of these indie comic book creators, video game or toy creators, send me an email. Look for updates from our local comic shop, Linebreakers, as we aim to help this awesome pop culture community make it through these dark times.
So buy those comic books, buy that video game, buy that VOD movie and enjoy it with your family.
Make the most of these times. We will make it through this. Enjoy your time at home, read more, write more, whatever it is you like to do as a creative release, now is the time.
If these times of isolation are weighing on you and you need someone to talk to, then email me. firstname.lastname@example.org. I mean it. We only make it through if we look out for our neighbors, for our community. If you are reading this, you are part of my community.
We shall continue to bring you the meat of pop culture, and if we find resources to help make your time of social distancing more enjoyable, we will make sure to pass it on to you all.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and keep enjoying life.
