ComiXology, Amazon’s premier digital comics service, announces Forgotten Home, an 8-issue urban fantasy comic book series full of magic, mystery, and family secrets written by Erica Schultz, with art by Marika Cresta, colors by Matt Emmons and Jackie Von Spanks, letters by Cardinal Rae, and covers by Natasha Alterici. Forgotten Home #1 debuts October 2nd and will be available to read at no additional cost for Amazon Prime, Kindle Unlimited, and comiXology Unlimited members, and also available for purchase on Kindle and comiXology. Forgotten Home is from Vices Press who originally debuted on comiXology via comiXology Submit.

In Forgotten Home, Sheriff’s Deputy Lorraine Adalet investigates child disappearances all over Montana and finds a connection between many of the abductions: traces of magic! Lorraine’s search ramps up when her own teenage daughter is caught up in the kidnappings, and Lorraine learns the culprit is tied to her own past. Lorraine’s investigation leads her back to her home world of Jannada, a magical realm in a bitter war that she fled as a teenager. Now that Lorraine’s two lives have collided, she must confront her past across two worlds and save her daughter.

“Lorraine is a single mother from another world who is forced home when children start to disappear in her town on Earth,” says artist Marika Cresta. “Lorraine is the princess of her home world, Jannada, but returning home isn’t easy for her, as her relationship with the queen is strained. At its heart, Forgotten Home is a story about family with problems, misunderstandings and imperfections, all of which play out in a fantastical and unexpected setting.”

“I’ve had a fabulous time creating a magical world that the audience will believe truly exists,” says writer Erica Schultz. “Yissel Ayala, a fashion designer for several comic books, was kind enough to take on the task of creating the initial designs for the Jannadan royal outfits. Her style is impeccable, and, coupled with Marika Cresta’s line art, this book is just gorgeous.”

Forgotten Home is already garnering accolades from the comics community:

“It’s a crime story. It’s a magic story. It’s … wait, what the hell is this thing? Forgotten Home by Erica Schultz and Marika Cresta is hard to categorize, unless the category is great comics. I’m fascinated by what I’ve read, and completely intrigued to see where it’s going.”
—Ron Marz (The Adventures of Superman, Green Lantern)

“A really fun genre mashup that drops you in and doesn’t hold your hand, all the while building mythology and asking questions you can’t wait to find out the answers to.”
—Kyle Higgins (Hadrian’s Wall, Winter Soldier)

“Forgotten Home is an untouched realm of fantasy crime–like Stranger Things meets Supernatural in today’s setting. Erica, Marika, Matt, Jackie, and Cardinal create a magical realm that seems realistic and relatable, certainly a world that you want to jump into and follow closely.”
—Liana Kangas (She Said Destroy, Black AF)

“Engaging, smart and stylish as all hell.”
—Simon Fraser (2000AD)

“Schultz and Cresta have crafted a complex narrative full of mystery and magic. I expected nothing less from this creative team than a great comic book, and they somehow delivered something even better. Forgotten Home is unforgettable.”
—Eric Palicki (No Angel, Dead Beats)

“I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds!”
—Matt Miner (GWAR, Death Trap)

Forgotten Home grabs you from page one — and that’s before the magic even really begins. A great mystery and a compelling mythology have already started to form in the first chapter and I can’t wait for more.”
—Erik Burnham (Transformers/Ghostbusters, Red Sonja)
