The vast landscape of the world of Kickstarter can be daunting, but it also has provided some amazing, creative projects. Projects like Terra Kaiju by Joe Badon- a project I backed and enjoyed the heck out of. Well, Badon is back, and has once again brought a project that catches the eye and the mind at once: get ready for The Man with Ten Thousand Eyes!

Here’s the details straight from the Kickstarter project page:

It is a Surrealist, Sci Fi, Horror, Drama with a touch of Romantic Comedy that is influenced by my love of weird movies.

The story is about a man named Wendell. He leads an extremely mundane life: single, office job, lives by himself, etc…

One day, Wendell wakes up with a third eye smack in the middle of his forehead. This third eye gives him insight into people’s lives, the future and other psychic abilities. Wendell, at first, feels like a hero that is able to help people but then quickly spirals downward as more eyes begin to grow all over his body and he starts losing control of his new found abilities.

THE MAN WITH THEN THOUSAND EYES is a tale of identity and soul searching as to what one’s purpose is in life through the lens of surrealist fiction.

Drawing from influences such as Eraserhead, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Kafka’s Metamorphosis and The Dark Barkward I hope to pay homage to such strange works of fiction while tackling some tough life questions.

Just looking at the stark imagery of the cover, and hearing about these “ten thousand eyes” had me hooked from the get go. I am a proud backer of this project, and I hope you will at least check out the page and see what Badon has cooked up this time.
