Real Rap Song of the Week: "Goodbye" by Slaughterhouse

I’m rushing up to Cedar Sinai, praying for a miracle, I don’t want to see my idol die… Before he did, the look in his eyes said “even though you just got here…goodbye.

Those are the words from West Coast legend Crooked I on what I think is the best track off of Slaughterhouse’s newest album: Goodbye. The melodic track with a monotone hook talks about the hardships the group has seen individually: Joe Budden losing his unborn twins, Crooked I losing his uncle, and Joell Ortiz losing his grandmother. I know far too many people that have passed away this year, and I have far too many friends going through the pain of loss right now. This song is a fitting tribute to all of us who have lost someone in our lives…goodbye…
