Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Endeavor. Wait, what?

Welcome back to the Kelvin Timeline. Following the events of Star Trek Beyond, Captain Kirk and crew find themselves without an Enterprise. While the new NCC-171A is under construction (at Yorktown), Kirk and his allies are making due with the USS Endeavor.

Boldly Go Volume 2 is a collection of issues of issues 7-12 of the popular Boldly Go series by IDW.

Ranging in locations from Yorktown to Earth to New Vulcan, this collection takes you on a tour of the Kelvin universe. Featuring stories starring Spock, Kirk, Scotty, and even a team of cadets that includes Jaylah (from Star Trek Beyond), these issues cover a fascinating time that will likely take place between Beyond and the next film.

These issues showcase spot-on artwork and smart, witty dialogue. You can tell that the writers and artists know their Star Trek and want to deliver the best stories possible. As a fan of the new movies, I jumped right into the story and it read like it could be the plot line for the sequel to Beyond.

IDW has a well documented history of telling amazing stories with popular film and TV properties. With writers like Mike Johnson and Ryan Parrott and artists like Megan Levens and Tony Shasteen, the Star Trek property is in very good hands.

Rating: 10 out of 10. This is a great read for any Star Trek fan, whether you love the Kelvin Timeline (like I do), or not!
