Peter David, a staple in the comic industry and known for his epic runs on the Incredible Hulk and X-Factor to name a few, has suffered a stroke and is recovering. The news broke on his official website, where he let the world know:

I have had a stroke.

We were on vacation in Florida when I lost control of the right side of my body. I cannot see properly and I cannot move my right arm or leg. We are currently getting the extent of the damage sorted out and will report as further details become clarified.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. David and his family, as we pray for a speedy and full recovery. I met Peter at a comic con a few years back, where I got a signed edition of his how to write comics book (which is amazing). He’s an awesome, down to Earth guy, and his writing is unparalleled. One of the few books I still pick up every month is his X-Factor, which boggles the mind in sheer quality.

Get well soon, Mr. David.
