Tower of Guns Review: A Randomized Hit
Review by Nolan P. Smith
When I received word of Tower of Guns, the first person shooter from GRIP Digital S.R.O and Terrible Posture Games, I didn’t know what to think. I had never heard of the game, so my fear was another run of the mill first person shooter that is destined to fall through the cracks.
I love being wrong.
Tower of Guns boils down the essence of what a first person shooter is: fun to fire weapons and plenty of targets. The whole aspect of Tower of Guns is to go level by level, fighting various mechanical enemies as you descend the tower. With boss battles and levels that change every time, the game is packed full of replay ability. To aide in this little journey, you have an interesting arsenal at your disposal, as well as to unlockable weapons based off of your progress and coins you gather. Weapons like a pizza launcher armed with saw blades.
I have been really enjoying Tower of Guns- it’s a different experience every time I try it. The graphics are full of energy and have an animated, Borderlands feel to them, which I think fits the tone of the game perfectly. It’s not a long game, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s an enjoyable romp that is sure to please anyone look for a good shoot’em up adventure. I give Tower of Guns a FOUR out of FIVE. Tower of Guns is available on X-Box One, PS4, PS3 and PC.
