Action Figure Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BST AXN Jennika (Comic Noir)

I’m thrilled to present this advance review. A big shout out to The Loyal Subjects for sending over one of the most anticipated action figures, Jennika. This assassin-turned-turtle leaps straight from the IDW Publishing comic series, and today, we’re diving into the Comic Noir version.

While it’s unclear where this version will be available, you can immediately notice the differences in the paint applications. Jennika features much more muted colors, except her vibrant bandana, which really stands out. She comes equipped with multiple interchangeable hands (clawed and unclawed), a cape, a sword with a sheath, an extra head with the bandana pulled to her forehead, two slash effects, and a collectible card.

This figure is fantastic. Last year, TLS’s IDW TMNT collection set high expectations, and Jennika doesn’t disappoint. She boasts impressive articulation and incredible detail. The texture of her clothing is so intricate—you need to see it to believe it. The articulation allows for a variety of dynamic poses. The claw hands and expressive heads bring so much character to the figure. Jennika has literally jumped off the comic page and into the action-figure world.

My only gripe would be the knee articulation, which can create a noticeable gap from certain angles. That’s my sole nitpick. I feel like The Loyal Subjects has indeed found their stride with their latest TMNT BST AXN figures. In this review, you’ll see Jennika taking on some of the earlier TMNT figures; the difference is like night and day. TMNT is my favorite franchise ever, and seeing The Loyal Subjects handle it with such care and quality is incredibly exciting for me as a fan in 2024. Make sure to pick up Jennika, whether it’s this striking Color Noir version, the regular release, or the fantastic SDCC version hitting this July.
