Daniel Chabon Promoted To Senior Editor at Dark Horse
By Staff Reports
Dark Horse is pleased to announce the promotion of Daniel Chabon to the role of Senior Editor. Chabon joined the Dark Horse family in 2009 as an assistant editor on Mike Mignola’s Hellboy. He’s an Eisner Award-nominated comic book and graphic novel editor with a master’s degree in book publishing from Portland State University and a law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.
“Daniel’s an ambitious editor with an unwavering commitment to the creators he works with and a boundless enthusiasm for the books they create,” explained Dave Marshall, Dark Horse Comics Editor-in-Chief. “His passion for comics is inspiring, and I look forward to him sharing that further, both within and without the walls of Dark Horse, in his new position.”
In his many years at Dark Horse, Daniel has brought a stellar collection of titles and creators to the company—including work from Neil Gaiman, Jeff Lemire, Matt Kindt, Margaret Atwood, Dave McKean, William Gibson, James Stokoe, and a host of others—and he continues to reach out to new creators and expand Dark Horse’s horizons. Daniel’s enthusiasm for comics and his love of the medium have enabled him to make important contributions to Dark Horse’s creator-owned comics.
“I’m very happy for Daniel Chabon, who has become a big part of the Black Hammer family,” said Black Hammer co-creator Jeff Lemire.
Dan likes to spend his spare time with Zell, his four-year-old Shiba Inu. She knows the following commands “Sit,” “Stay,” “High five,” and “Don’t eat that!”
Please join us in congratulating Daniel Chabon on his past accomplishments and wishing him luck in his new role in the company!
