The force is clearly with him.

J.J. Abrams, the director that brought the world Super 8 and the Star Trek remakes, is reportedly set to take the directing reigns of the new Star Wars film, Episode VII.

That’s the word from reports coming in (like HERE), which sounds like great news for fans of the Star Wars franchise. Abrams has proven he has what it takes to make a blockbuster (Star Trek, Super 8) as well as sci-fi epics. Episode VII is set for release in 2015, and with no other directing commitments for Abrams, he will be able to jump right in. The film will be written by Michael Arndt of Little Miss Sunshine fame.

So, what do you think? Is this a good choice for the next torch bearer of the Lucasfilm empire? Personally, I can’t wait to see what Abrams does!
