Pop Mart x Gong Studios: Kingdom Come Shazam Review
Review by Nolan P. Smith

The Kingdom Come storyline remains one of DC’s most iconic, showcasing a darker, more complex era for its superheroes. Now, thanks to Pop Mart and Gong Studios, fans can bring that legendary aesthetic to their shelves with two incredible 1/12 scale figures: Superman and Shazam. Today, we’re taking a closer look at my favorite of the pair—Shazam.
This figure is a dream for collectors, rivaling the quality of Mezco Toyz’s One:12 Collective line. Shazam features a cloth suit, a removable cape, extra hands, and the deluxe version ups the ante with a smiling portrait and even more interchangeable hands. Right out of the box, this figure feels premium. From the articulation to the impeccable quality of the soft goods suit, every detail is meticulously crafted. The metallic accents on the gold elements and the two stunning face sculpts are standout features. Swapping heads was seamless, though changing the hands required a bit more effort than expected.
Pop Mart and Gong Studios have truly captured the essence of Alex Ross’s iconic artwork. This Shazam figure doesn’t just look the part—it embodies it. The deluxe version’s smiling head sculpt is a particular highlight, adding a touch of character that sets this release apart from past iterations. For my money, this is one of the best Shazam figures ever produced.

Rating: 4.5 Pastrami Nations out of 5.

It’s nearly perfect, with the only drawback being the finicky hand-swapping process. Otherwise, this figure is pure magic!
