Review: Jada Toys Street Fighter – Sagat
By Nolan P. Smith
Editor, Pastrami Nation
Jada Toys continues its Street Fighter line with the release of Sagat, the towering Muay Thai king and one of the franchise’s most iconic characters. Known for his intimidating size, eye-patch, and signature moves like Tiger Uppercut and Tiger Knee, Sagat is a must-have for fans. But how does the figure actually hold up? Let’s break it down.
Sculpt and Paint
Jada nails the sculpt. Sagat’s physique is spot-on—muscular, imposing, and faithful to his in-game look. His battle scars, especially the large chest scar from Ryu, are cleanly detailed. The face sculpt captures his stoic, commanding presence perfectly, and the eyepatch is placed just right. Paint apps are clean across the board. The shorts, hand wraps, and ankle guards all have solid detailing without going overboard. I had zero quality control issues—this is an impressive-looking Sagat.
Articulation
This is where Jada has been surprising collectors. Sagat has a wide range of motion, especially for a larger figure. Double-jointed knees and elbows, butterfly shoulders, and a strong torso crunch offer a lot of dynamic posing options. Despite his size, he’s not stiff—he can pull off Tiger Knees, fight stances, and power poses with no problem. The joints feel solid but not too tight, and balance isn’t an issue. Jada Toys has their articulation on lock.
Accessories
Sagat comes with extra hands, an alternate head sculpt, and his Tiger Shot effect with a stand. The parts swap out easily and feel sturdy. It’s a nice loadout that gives some variety without overloading the box.
Scale and Presence
Sagat towers over the rest of the line, exactly as he should. He scales great next to Ryu and Guile, preserving that iconic height advantage. On display, he commands attention—he looks like a boss, because he is one.
Final Thoughts
At around $30, this figure is a solid buy. The sculpt, articulation, and character presence are all top-tier. Jada Toys is quickly establishing itself in the fighting game figure scene, and Sagat is proof they mean business. If you’re a Street Fighter fan or collector, Sagat is a must.
