Sectaurs are back! Thanks to Oni Press and the Nacelle Company, one of nostalgia’s coolest franchises has returned, bringing with it a world filled with insect humanoids, rideable bugs, and sinister threats lurking in the shadows.
This reintroduction to the Sectaurs universe is brought to life by writer Dennis Culver, artist Ramon Bachs, colorist Manoli Martinez, and letterers Ghost Glyph Studios and Taylor Esposito. Set on the distant planet of Symbion, the story unfolds among the Sectaurs, who inhabit a world divided between the noble Shining Realm and the ominous Dark Domain. Although peace has long endured between these two realms, that balance is now on the verge of breaking. With the king of the Shining Realm fallen ill, his son, Prince Dargon, must step up to lead as threats begin to surface.
This heroic adventure channels the spirit of classic series like Masters of the Universe and Thundercats, which is thrilling for fans of those epic tales. Culver does a great job introducing readers to this universe, showing us how Dargon faces the challenge of leadership, including the fascinating ritual of “tele-bonding” with his insect steed. Meanwhile, tensions in the Dark Domain are boiling over as power struggles erupt and rival factions prepare to make their move. Bach’s artwork perfectly captures the action and energy of this world, with detailed designs and a stunning cliffhanger splash page that leaves you eager for more.
The collaboration between Oni Press and Nacelle has been fantastic, bringing us exciting revivals like Robo Force, Biker Mice from Mars, and now Sectaurs. And if that’s not enough, fans can pair the comic with the incredible Sectaurs action figures available at Walmart. It’s a great time to be alive.
