By Nolan P. Smith
Going to WonderCon this weekend? Then make sure to pick up Shiprock And Anchordog!!!
The comic is co-written and illustrated by artist Gregery Miller and creator Evan Curran. It is based on the adventures of two dogs as they travel through surrealistic and imaginative landscapes in the search for one thing: food.
This books just looks so cool, bursting with imagination, and has already garnered quite the views from the Reddit community, nearing upwards of 7,000 views in only a few days. What’s it about? The concept of Shiprock and Anchordog comic was built from the musical rock opera Evan Curran started in western Massachusetts in 2009. Hundreds of kids have already fallen in love with the characters and their story through the music and summer camps Curran runs. Check out a Huffington Post piece by Curran that gives some background about his inspiration for creating this work: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/evan-curran/make-music-for-everyone_b_2287673.html
Make sure to stop by Gregery’s booth at AA-018 in the artist’s alley to check it out for yourself. Gregery is also a traditional artist and professional illustrator having industry experience working with companies like Adult Swim, Disney, and Microsoft.
