The Thor Ragnarok Trailer Smashes, Tells Jokes, Impresses All Around

The first trailer for Thor Ragnarok brings fights and comedy

The first trailer for Thor Ragnarok has hit the internet, and I can describe it in two words:

Hulk Smash!

The film has long rumored been linked to the Planet Hulk storyline that placed the green Avenger on a strange planet where he had to fight beings stronger than him in gladiator like combat to survive. It looks like this is very much what is happening here, as we see Thor (Chris Hemsworth) imprisoned and forced to fight without his beloved hammer. Of course, the hammer breaks early in the trailer when new villain Hela makes her presence known.

Other noteworthy moments here: first look at Valkyrie in a trailer, we see everyone’s favorite god of mischief, Loki, we see Jeff Goldblum in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, and… was that a celestial watching the fights? Kind of small to be one, maybe its an Eternal? I’ll stop before I bring more nerdy Marvel jargon into your life.
