TKO Gets an Eisner Award Nomination

We are proud to announce that our graphic novel SENTIENT has been nominated for a 2020 Eisner Award in the Best Limited Series category. Eisner Award-Winners Jeff Lemire and Gabriel H Walta created a beautiful story of humanity and strength, and it is wonderful to see that work honored.
SENTIENT is the harrowing sci-fi story that takes place aboard a colony ship. Where a devastating attack leaves the children parentless, it falls upon the onboard A.I. Valarie to become a parent to the children and defend them from a danger tracking them through space.
SENTIENT writer Jeff Lemire writes, “It’s great to be nominated for an Eisner Award for our work on SENTIENT. It was pure joy getting to work with Gabriel Walta, Steve Wands and Jared K. Fletcher on the project, and it’s really quite flattering to be recognized in the same category as so many other wonderful comics. I’m very proud of SENTIENT and the package that TKO put together, and to be a part of their unique approach to making comics and getting them out into the world.”
Upon hearing about the nom, SENTIENT Artist Gabriel H Walta wrote, “I’m so happy that SENTIENT got a nomination for the Eisner Awards! Working with Jeff Lemire, Steve Wands, Jared K. Fletcher and all the people at TKO has been one of my best experiences since I became a comic book pro, and I’m really proud that the Eisner Awards jury members also thought that this is a very special book!”
Since it’s debut, SENTIENT quickly joined the ranks of our other best-selling titles. In their review, The Beat wrote, “Jeff Lemire and Gabriel are a match made in heaven and deliver a very human story starring a character who’s not human at all.” ComicBook.com gave the book a 5-star rating and called the book a “taut sci-fi thriller that won’t let you set it down.”
We here at TKO Studios are passionate about telling epic stories in a creative and new format. In our first year of operation, we were nominated for both Publisher of the Year and Best Independent Publisher by Tripwire Magazine. We are proud to add an Eisner Award nomination to the list of achievements and are proud to stand side-by-side with our fellow nominees.
