Action Figure Review: Super7 Ultimates Metallic Voltron
By Nolan P. Smith
It’s no secret that I am a fan of Super7. Since buying some of their vinyl robot figures years ago, I have seen the company grow by leaps and bounds, with my favorite addition being their Ultimates line. 7-inch figures, highly detailed, and with some of the most extraordinary packaging out there. They have so many licenses, but today I look at a classic Voltron.
This is the second version of the Ultimates Voltron; this one is painted metallic. Let me say you will not believe the articulation and detail that went into this figure. The joints are so well hidden and cut to fit Voltron perfectly. I did not think the figure would be so articulated, given a robot figure’s natural bulkiness. The figure comes with two extra hands, a vac metal sword, a shield, as well as a glow-in-the-dark sword.
I love the Ultimates series, and this figure is on a different level. I have had a few other articulated Voltrons in the past, but this one is easily the best, in my opinion. Excellent paint applications, fantastic articulation, and great accessories: This is the Voltron you need for your collection; you won’t be disappointed.
