Action Figure Review: One Piece S.H. Figuarts Roronoa Zoro

Roronoa Zoro, the iconic green-haired pirate hunter from the beloved anime series “One Piece,” comes to life in this stunning S.H. Figuarts action figure. Bandai Namco has outdone themselves with this latest addition, which I am thrilled to review.

A brief history of Zoro: Known for his exceptional swordsmanship and aspiration to become the world’s greatest swordsman, Zoro is a formidable and loyal member of the Straw Hat Pirates. His journey from a bounty hunter to a pirate with a strong sense of justice and commitment to his captain, Monkey D. Luffy, has won fans over worldwide.

The figure itself is amazing. It comes equipped with an array of accessories: interchangeable hands, expressive faceplates, his signature trio of swords along with their sheaths, and an extra faceplate for Monkey D. Luffy. This version of Zoro, hailing from the thrilling Raid on Onigashima arc, is depicted ready for battle, embodying the spirit and intensity of the character.

The sculpting and paint application are impeccable, capturing Zoro’s likeness as if he’s jumped straight out of the anime. The expressive faceplates add an incredible depth, allowing for dynamic display options. The meticulous attention to detail is evident, from the texture of the swords and sheaths to the iconic scar on Zoro’s chest. The accessories, like hands and faceplates, are user-friendly and interchangeable, and the swords fit perfectly into the figure’s hands, which is extremely important to action figure photographers and collectors alike.

However, the figure does have a minor drawback. The soft goods coat on Zoro somewhat restricts the leg articulation, making it challenging to recreate some of his signature dynamic fighting poses. While the articulation is present, it requires a bit of effort to manipulate the legs and joints effectively.

In closing, despite the slight issue with leg articulation, the S.H. Figuarts Roronoa Zoro  is a magnificent representation of the character. It’s a must-have for fans, embodying the essence of Zoro and worthy of a place in any “One Piece” collection. Big thanks to Bandai Namco for sending this over for review!
