In the world of 1/12 scale action figures, S.H. Figuarts stands out as a frontrunner. Their recent release of Deadpool 2’s iconic ‘Merc with a Mouth’ action figure not only upholds this reputation but sets a new benchmark in the field.
As an avid collector of Deadpool figures, particularly in the 5/6 inch category, my journey has spanned from the Toy Biz era to the present. Asserting that this S.H. Figuarts Deadpool is the pinnacle among them is no trivial statement. As a lifelong fan of this Marvel legend, the sheer brilliance of this figure leaves me in awe. It’s packed with an arsenal of accessories: six diverse guns, some with dynamic smoke or shooting effects, a plethora of 16 interchangeable hands, six expressive eyeplates that add life to the figure, dual swords, and ample storage options with gun holsters and sword sheaths.
The figure’s design exudes excellence. Every joint is well crafted, offering robust yet fluid movement, essential for a character as dynamic as Deadpool. The sculpting and paintwork are exceptional, capturing Deadpool’s essence in minute detail. It’s a figure that doesn’t just stand out—it leaps out, embodying the spirit and insanity of Wade Wilson.
Bandai Namco has undoubtedly delivered a masterpiece with this action figure. It’s not only a standout figure for 2023 but, in my view, it is the definitive 1/12 scale Deadpool figure. This is a must-have for collectors and Deadpool fans—grab it while it’s still available.
