Action Figure Review: Storm Collectibles Injustice Darkseid
By Nolan P. Smith
It seems to be the perfect time to review this figure, given that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is on fire. Of course, the story’s main villain is Darkseid: the figure I am looking at today is from the Injustice video game franchise. But make no mistake: this is the Darkseid you want for your collection. Darkseid being my favorite DC villain, this figure does the character justice.
Storm Collectibles/Bluefin have created some of the most remarkable figures on the market. From Mortal Kombat to Street Fighter, they make the best fighting game figures I have seen. Darkseid is no exception; this is a fantastic, absolute beast of a figure. Towering over six and seven-inch figures, the dark despot of Apokolips has never looked better in action figure form. The figure features a ton of articulation, multiple interchangeable hands, two extra heads, and two excellent Omega beam effects.
Storm Collectibles has been known to make their figures super-articulated yet disguising the articulation with soft plastic. This is how Darkseid is at times, with a mix of regular and soft plastic to achieve the best articulation and sculpt. The articulation is fantastic, as you can one the figure in just about any pose you would ever need for a Darkseid figure. The extra heads are impressive, as one head has glowing fire effects in his eyes. You can attach the Omega beams to that particular head as well to let the villain cut loose with his zany beams.
I have been a fan of Storm Collectibles since day one, and their Injustice figures have just been fantastic. If you are looking for the best Darkseid for your money, this is it, hands down. The tremendous detail, articulation, and accessories make this figure a must-buy. Now, if only Storm Collectibles could give us Darkseid from the Snyder cut Justice League.
