Christopher Eccleston is the Villain for Thor: The Dark World

Christopher Eccleston, known for playing the good doctor on Dr. Who as well roles on Heroes and G.I. Joe-The Rise of Cobra, will take up the role as the lead antagonist in Thor: The Dark World.

The word came today from Deadline: the full article can be found HERE. Eccleston will play Malekith the Accursed in the sequel to Thor. Malekith is the ruler of the Dark Elves, hence the name of the film. Eccleston joins Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and the rest of the cast.  Thor: The Dark World is scheduled for release on November 8, 2013.
