Linebreakers Assembles Local High Desert Artists for Art Drive to Help St. Mary’s Hospital with COVID-19 Supplies

By Staff Reports

Linebreakers, the largest comic book and hobby shop in the High Desert, has brought together the talents of seven local artists for an Art Drive that will help support the artists, as well as help purchase COVID-19 supplies for St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley.

“We are doing this in an effort to help in the areas we can,” said Linebreakers’ Comic Book Specialist Denton Heath.  “With publishers and comic releases at a standstill, freelance artists are not getting the same exposure and work as they were. We all know the dire situation for needed supplies at our local hospitals. So we combined the efforts together. Seven incredible local artists completing seven original pieces of art on blank comic book covers, for auction.”

50% of the proceeds of each piece of original art will be given to the artist, and 50% will go directly to St Mary Medical Center for supplies to support their COVID-19 efforts. Cover artwork will be revealed beginning April 10th, with new reveals all week leading up to the auction kick off on Friday, April 17th. Auctions will be held on Linebreakers Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/linebreakers/) and will last until Sunday evening, April 19th.

The largest comic book shop in the High Desert, Linebreakers, is also the longest-running game store in the community. It has been a mainstay in downtown Victorville for years, carrying a variety of products ranging from comic books, graphic novels, action figures, tabletop gaming, and more. At Linebreakers, you can learn a new hobby, create a pull list for your monthly comic book subscriptions, find the perfect pop culture gift, and more.
