Music Video Premiere: Eminem ft. Nate Ruess- Headlights
By Nolan P. Smith
“Maybe we took this too far…”
Those are the words from Headlights, the newest music video from Eminem and featuring Nate Ruess. The song is off of Em’s latest album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 and is a departure from what we usually hear about in regards to his mom, Debbie Mathers.
We get to hear Em make peace with his mom over a track, which is a great feeling, and a great day for this to debut on, being Mother’s Day and all. Any fan of the rapper knows the infamous history with the estranged mother, but with this song, it looks like things are moving towards a resolution: well, at least the song is. Eminem once again shows why he is one of the best in the game, with a song that is touching and is that proverbial olive branch. The video itself shows a lot of actual photos from the rapper’s childhood, and is told from more of a first-person point of view, with that person being Eminem’s mom.
Check it out, let us know what you think, and have a great Mother’s Day!
