Super7’s Ultimates! line is renowned for revitalizing iconic characters and franchises in the form of meticulously crafted action figures. A standout in their collection is the Nosferatu figure, a tribute to the legendary character from the 1922 silent horror film, “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror.” This film, directed by F.W. Murnau, is an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” and introduced Count Orlok, a vampire whose chilling presence has become a staple in horror culture.
The Nosferatu figure from Super7 is a testament to their commitment to quality and attention to detail. It arrives in an attractively designed custom window box with a slipcover sleeve, making a strong first impression. Upon unboxing, the figure’s exquisite craftsmanship becomes even more apparent. It includes multiple hands, a key ring, a rat, and two additional interchangeable hands, one featuring Nosferatu’s iconic hat.
What impresses most about this figure are the headsculpts, which vividly bring the silent film terror to life. While the figure may not boast an excessive amount of articulation, it features movement that resonates with the character’s eerie demeanor. The detailing on the trenchcoat and the creepy, claw-like hands (‘Claes’) is remarkably accurate.
Having collected various Nosferatu figures, I can confidently say this one ranks among the best. Super7 has outdone themselves, offering a figure that not only honors a classic horror icon but also highlights the diversity and richness of the Ultimates! line. For collectors and fans of horror memorabilia, this figure is a must-have. It’s not just an action figure; it’s a piece of cinematic history, meticulously recreated for modern collectors.
